1. Buley Art Gallery
The Buley Art Gallery, located in the basement of Hilton C. Buley Library, is a staple of professional and student art. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, the Art Gallery puts on exhibitions once or twice a semester, including art and sculptures created by students in their art courses that semester. Students are also welcome to work as a Gallery Attendant through the work study program.

2. The Maker Space
One of the unique features of Buley Library is the Maker Space, a vibrant area designed for students with a passion for hands-on creation. The room has sewing machines, 3D printers and button makers that students can use for class projects or just for fun. It is a quiet spot to take a break from screens and do something creative.

3. Free Textbooks
For students looking to save money, Buley Library’s textbook collection is one of its most overlooked resources. The library works to keep a copy of every assigned textbook available for short-term use. These textbooks can be checked out for 24 hours, making them a helpful backup for students waiting for books to arrive or facing the high cost of course materials. While small, this service can make a significant difference for students trying to stay on track academically without added financial stress.

4. The IT Help Desk
Located on the first floor near the Learning Resources Center, the IT Help Desk provides essential support for students dealing with technology issues. Instead of struggling alone, students can walk in and receive help with common problems such as internet connectivity, Blackboard troubleshooting, login errors and authentication issues. The desk also serves as a point of contact between students and more specialized IT teams when needed.

5. The Circulation Desk
Directly across from the IT Help Desk is the Circulation Desk, often the first stop for students entering Buley Library. While it is primarily known for checking out books, the desk offers much more. Students can borrow chargers, headphones, markers, and other supplies, as well as receive help with locating materials, basic IT questions, and general academic guidance. One of the most commonly overlooked services is the ability to borrow calculators for short-term use, typically for 24 hours. With its wide range of resources and welcoming presence, the Circulation Desk plays a key role in supporting students beyond simple book checkouts.
